Stocking Triploid Grass Carp
What Is It?
Triploid grass carp is a non-native species of fish commonly used as a non-chemical agent to control weed growth in ponds, such as hydrilla, milfoil, coontail, elodea, and pondweeds. Because Grass Carp are not native to New York and have huge appetites, a permit is required to stock them in the Adirondack Park.
