RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 14th, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely.
Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who participate remotely. If you would like the opportunity to make a public comment remotely, please email your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to AgencyMeeting.PublicComment@apa.ny.gov. Those who sign up for public comment will be limited to three minutes each. Public comment will not be accepted on any agenda items that are before the Board.
On Thursday at 9:30 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice's monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions.
At 10:00 a.m., the Public Awareness and Communications Committee will welcome representatives from the Development Authority of the North Country (DANC) for a briefing on their overall operations and role in the North Country. In addition, the committee will receive an in-depth overview on DANC’s Open Access Telecommunications Network (OATN).
At 11:15 a.m., the Park Ecology Committee will come to order for informational presentations from The Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program and Paul Smith's College Adirondack Watershed Institute. Staff from these organizations will highlight accomplishments from 2023 and identify management priorities for 2024.
At 1:30 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approvability for two projects. The Brant Lake Foundation has proposed to use the aquatic herbicide ProcellaCOR EC within five treatment zones in Brant Lake to control Eurasian watermilfoil. The project site is in the Town of Horicon, Essex County. The committee will also consider a proposed four-lot subdivision for single and/or multi-family dwellings in the Town of Corinth, Saratoga County.
