January 2024 Board Meeting Final Agenda


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, January 11th, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely. Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who participate remotely. If you would like the opportunity to make a public comment remotely, please email your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to AgencyMeeting.PublicComment@apa.ny.gov. Those who sign up for public comment will be limited to three minutes each. Public comment will not be accepted on any agenda items that are before the Board.

On Thursday at 9:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice's monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions.

At 9:30 a.m., the Economic Affairs Committee will convene for an overview of the services provided by the Agency’s Economic Services Unit.

At 10:30 a.m., the State Land Committee will come to order to consider recommendations for the 2023 State Land Classification Package. Agency staff will recap the public engagement process, discuss comments received, and request the board accept the Final Supplement Environmental Impact Statement. The board may authorize the Executive Director to prepare a findings statement and forward the classification recommendations to the Governor for approval.

The committee will also be briefed by Department of Environmental Conservation staff on a proposed draft amendment to the 1981 Lake George Beach and Battlefield Park Unit Management Plan. APA staff will highlight Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan Intensive Use considerations, and request the board authorize a joint public comment period with the Department of Environmental Conservation.
