RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 16th, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely. See homepage for remote access information.
Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who participate remotely. If you would like the opportunity to make a public comment remotely, please email your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to AgencyMeeting.PublicComment@apa.ny.gov.
On Thursday at 10:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice's monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions.
At 10:30 a.m., the Administration Committee will consider amending two agency polices and its delegation resolution.
At 11:15 a.m., the State Land Committee will convene for a presentation from APA and DEC staff on a fourth alternative for the Wild Forest Basic Guideline No.4 – No Material Increase of Roads on Wild Forest classified state lands interpretation. Staff will request the board authorize a joint 30-day public comment period.
At 1:30 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider a variance request to expand an existing two-slip non-conforming boathouse to add a third covered slip in the Town of Brighton, Franklin County.
At 2:45 p.m., the Public Awareness and Communication Committee will convene to honor Women’s History Month. Sandra Weber – Adirondack author, performer and lecturer will give a “Remarkable Women of the Adirondacks” historical presentation. Sandra will highlight the accomplishments of several extraordinary women who throughout their lives displayed courage, fortitude, and perseverance in the pursuit of just causes and goals.
Local artist Georgeanne Gaffney will also discuss how the natural wonders of the Adirondacks inspires her work.
A Fine Arts Exhibit of Sandra Weber’s photos and paintings by local artist Georgeanne Gaffney will be on display to honor Women’s History Month “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Story.”
At 3:45 p.m., the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions.
