RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, February 9th, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Agency's headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely.
Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who attend this month's meeting remotely. If you would like the opportunity to speak remotely during public comment, please send your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to AgencyMeeting.PublicComment@apa.ny.gov.
On Thursday at 10:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice's monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions including a Board resolution to commemorate the upcoming fiftieth anniversary of the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan.
At 10:30 a.m., the Local Government Services Committee will consider proposed amendments to the Town of Lake George local land use program. The town has proposed to amend its zoning ordinance and re-zone areas of its zoning map.
At 11:15 a.m., the Park Ecology Committee will be briefed by agency staff regarding the ecological and environmental impacts from forest roads.
At 1:15 p.m., the State Land Committee will convene for a presentation from APA and DEC staff on a proposed fourth alternative for the Wild Forest Basic Guideline No.4 - No Material Increase of Roads on Wild Forest classified state lands. Staff will request the board authorize a joint 30-day public comment period for this alternative.
The committee will then hear a summary presentation of public comment received for the Sharp Bridge Campground and Day Use Area Unit Management Plan and consider if the plan conforms to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan.
At 2:30 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approvability for a proposed 5MW solar power generating facility in the Town of Moriah, Essex County.
