RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook on Thursday, October 10th and Friday October 11th, 2019. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Live and Archived webcast from the News and Activities list to watch the meeting.
On Thursday at 9:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.
At 9:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for a seven-lot subdivision in the Town of Black Brook, Clinton County. The project applicant proposes to create six vacant building lots and one 162-acre lot containing existing residential development. The committee will also consider authorizing a new General Permit/Order for the replacement of utility poles.
At 11:00 a.m., the Park Ecology Committee will be briefed on the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act by NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Office of Climate Change Assistant Director Mark Lowery.
At 12:00 p.m., the Agency meeting will adjourn for the day. Board Members will visit Little Green Pond in the Saranac Lake Wild Forest to see first-hand primitive tent sites and how management practices are implemented. On Friday, October 11th at 9:00 a.m., the State Land Committee will convene to consider a joint public comment period for proposed activities in the Blue Mountain Wild Forest Unit Management Plan and their conformance to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan.
At 9:45 a.m., the Public Awareness and Communication Committee will hear an informational presentation from Ms. Maddie Phaneuf, a 2018 Winter Olympian and Northeast representative of Protect Our Winters. Ms. Phaneuf will discuss her work on climate change and brief the Board on the mission and activities of the non-profit organization Protect Our Winters and Protect Our Winters Riders Alliance.
At 11:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions and hear member and Local Government Review Board comment.
