July 2019 APA Board Meeting Agenda


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook on Thursday, July 11th, 2019. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Live and Archived webcast from the News and Activities list to watch the meeting.

On Thursday at 9:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

At 9:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for a timber harvest on a 102-acre portion of a 9,808-acre property owned by McKavanagh Pond Club in the Town of Waverly, Franklin County.

The committee will consider approval for a variance request to expand a pre-existing single-family dwelling located within the shoreline setback of Upper Saranac Lake with a proposed addition of a 580-square-foot deck. The project site is in the Town of Santa Clara, Franklin County.

The committee will also determine approvability for a proposal from Placid Gold, LLC to convert an existing 200-seat restaurant into a tourist accommodation containing three living units, and expansion of the structure by 54 square feet to the non-shoreline side. The project site is located in the Village of Lake Placid, Essex County.

At 1:00 p.m., the Park Ecology Committee will hear an informational presentation on ways landowners can improve habitat for forest birds. Suzanne Treyger, Forest Program Manager for Audubon New York, will discuss ways for landowners to expand habitat for priority birds that live in the Adirondack Park and New York State.

At 2:00 p.m., the Park Policy and Planning Committee will consider approval for an amendment to the Private Land Use and Development Plan map proposed by the Town of Westport and Consolidate Mortgages, LLC. The applicants have requested to reclassify twenty-nine acres of a larger parcel currently classified as Resources Management to Hamlet. The land involved is a portion of the Westport Country Club.

At 3:00 p.m., the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions and hear member and Local Government Review Board comment.
