July 2018 APA Board Meeting Agenda


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook on Thursday, July 12th and Friday, July 13th, 2018.

On Thursday at 9:00 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

At 9:30 a.m., the Public Awareness and Communications Committee will convene for a presentation from Gary McCullouch, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Regional Spill Engineer. Mr. McCullouch will provide an overview on remediation activities at the J&L property which is located in the Town of Clifton, St. Lawrence County.

At 10:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for proposed bedrock mining at an existing sand and gravel mine located in the Town of North Hudson, Essex County. The committee will also consider approval for a new 90-foot-tall emergency communication tower proposed for McCauley Mountain in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County.

At 1:15 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will reconvene to determine approvability for a proposed 43-lot residential subdivision. The building lots will range in size from 1 acre to 8 acres and include one single family dwelling per lot. The project site is located in the Town of North Elba/Village of Lake Placid, Essex County.

At 2:00, the State Land Committee will come to order to consider authorizing an Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan conformance public comment period for proposed amendments to the Mount Van Hoevenberg Intensive Use Area Unit Management Plan. The committee will also deliberate Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan conformance for proposed amendments to the High Peaks Wilderness Complex and the Vanderwhacker Wild Forest Unit Management Plans.

On Friday at 10:00 a.m., the State Land Committee will reconvene to consider authorizing a public comment period for Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan conformance for the Travel Corridor Generic Unit Management Plan.

At 11:00, the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions and hear member and Local Government Review Board comment.
