RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, June 8th and Friday June 9th, 2017. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.
The Full Agency will come to order Thursday at 9:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.
At 9:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for a variance request for the construction of a single family dwelling, garage and onsite wastewater system on a lot having less than 125 feet of shoreline. The project site is located on Hadlock Pond in the Town of Fort Ann, Washington County. The Committee will also consider a variance request to add two decks to the front of a pre-existing shoreline structure located on Lake Placid in the Town of North Elba, Essex County.
At 1:00 p.m., the State Land Committee will hear an informational presentation from Department of Environmental Conservation staff on the Saranac Lake Wild Forest Unit Management Plan.
At 2:00 p.m., the Park Ecology Committee will be briefed by Department of Environmental staff on the status of White-nose Syndrome in bat colonies in New York and the country.
At 3:15 p.m., the Legal Affairs Committee will consider approval for an amendment to the Agency's Administrative Adjudication Plan.
At 3:45 p.m., the Local Government Services Committee will consider an amendment to the Town of Newcomb's Agency-Approved Local Land Use Program. The Town proposes to add the new use "Portable Sawmill" and add the existing uses, Tourist Accommodations, Campgrounds, Home Based Manufacturing and Sales, as permissible by site plan review in certain zoning districts. In addition the Town proposes to change Hunting & Fishing Cabins from permissible by site plan review to a permissible use in the Town LC & R8.5 zones.
On Friday June 9th at 9:00 a.m., the Park Policy and Planning Committee will be briefed by Agency staff on the cartographic administrative process for the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map.
At 10:45 a.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
