October Agency Meeting Agenda Annoucement


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, October 13th and Friday, October 14th, 2016.

The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

At 9:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene to consider approval for a proposed height extension to an existing 90 foot tall telecommunication tower. The tower is part of Saratoga Countys Emergency Services system. The project site is located in the Town of Edinburg, Saratoga County.

The committee will also consider a variance request to demolition and replace an existing single family dwelling partially within the 50 foot shoreline structure setback of Lake George. The project site is located in the Town of Dresden, Washington County.

At 1:00 p.m., the State Land Committee will come to order for the 2016-2017 State Land Classification Package presentation. The classification package includes a number of state land parcels including the Boreas Tract. Agency staff will present the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and request the Board authorize public hearings to solicit public comments.

At 3:00 p.m., the Local Government Services Committee will come to order to review and consider approval for amendments to the Town of Queensburys APA approved local land use program.

At 3:45 p.m., the Economic Affairs Committee will hear a presentation from Agency staff regarding retail economics and planning.

On Friday morning at 9:00, the State Land Committee may reconvene if necessary to continue discussion of the 2016-2017 State Land Classification Package.

At 10:00 a.m., the Park Ecology Committee will be briefed by Dr. Mark Whitmore, Forest Entomologist at Cornell University, on the invasive Balsam and Hemlock Woolly Adelgids and possible implications for the Adirondacks. Dr. Whitmore will also discuss current management practices to control the spread of these forest pests.

At 11:15 a.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
