March APA Board Meeting Agenda


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, March 10 and Friday March 11, 2016. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.

The Full Agency will come to order at 10:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

At 10:30 a.m., the State Land Committee will convene to consider approval for proposed amendments to the Adirondack Park State Land Master (APSLMP). The committee will also review the Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement during its deliberations. The proposed amendments relate to revisions to the APSLMP the Agency Board committed to consider as part of the 2013 Essex Chain of Lakes State land classification action.

At 1:00 p.m., the State Land Committee will reconvene for informational presentations from Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) staff on the Lake Durant Campground, the Eighth Lake Campground and the Limekiln Lake Campground Unit Management Plans (UMPs). The Board will take no action on these UMPs this month.

At 2:30 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for a public/semi-public use building. The project is located in the Town of Clifton, St. Lawrence County.

At 3:30 p.m., the Park Ecology Committee will come to order for a presentation from DEC staff on Adirondack Park Moose research efforts. The committee will be briefed on the multi-year project designed to gather data on the health of moose and factors that influence survival and reproductive rates. The study will provide valuable information and help DEC prepare a moose management plan for New York State.

On Friday morning at 9:30, the Full Board will receive a general overview from APA legal staff on shoreline structures and related Agency jurisdiction.

At 10:45 a.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
