RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.
The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report and an overview of the 2015 Agency Annual Report.
At 10:15 a.m., the State Land Committee will convene to deliberate the adoption of a resolution for Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan conformance for the Santanoni Historic Area Unit Management Plan (UMP). Camp Santanoni is located north of the Town of Newcomb in Essex County. It is the only Adirondack Great Camp entirely in public ownership and stewardship.
The committee will then hear an informational presentation from Department of Environmental Conservation staff on a proposed amendment to the Black River Wild Forest UMP. The Black River Wild Forest is located in the Towns of Ohio and Webb in Herkimer County, the Town of Forestport in Oneida County, the Town of Lyonsdale in Lewis County and the Town of Morehouse in Hamilton County. The unit contains approximately 121,506 acres. The primary purpose of this UMP amendment is to classify snowmobile trails to conform to the new trail classification system. Also included are plans for an additional parking lot at North Lake and several new foot trails in support of the proposed North Country Scenic Trail.
At 1:00 p.m., the State Land Committee will reconvene to deliberate the adoption of a resolution for Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan conformance for the Remsen to Lake Placid Travel Corridor Unit Management Plan amendment. The plan includes an alternative for dividing the Corridor into rail and trail segments. The rails would be retained within the Corridor from Remsen to Tupper Lake (Segment 1) and the rails would be removed within the Corridor from Tupper Lake to Lake Placid (Segment 2).
At 2:00 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will assemble to consider approval for the second renewal of a permit to construct a single-family dwelling in a designated recreational rivers area (Sacanadaga River). The project is located in the town of Wells, Hamilton County. At 2:45 p.m., the Legal Affairs Committee will come to order for a presentation from staff on proposed revisions to Agency's Freedom of Information Law regulations. The committee will review public outreach and discuss initiating the rule making process for a consensus rule.
At 3:45 p.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
