RAY BROOK, NY The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, August 13, 2015. The August meeting is one day only. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.
The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.
At 9:30 a.m., the State Land Committee will assemble for an informational only presentation by DEC Staff on the Lake Champlain Islands Unit Management Plan (UMP). The Lake Champlain Islands UMP includes: Valcour Island Primitive Area, Schuyler Island Primitive Area, Champlain Islands Wild Forest, Peru Dock Boat Launch Intensive Use Area, Port Douglas Boat Launch Intensive Use Area and the Willsboro Bay Boat Launch Intensive Use Area. These areas are located in the towns of Ausable, Peru and Plattsburgh in Clinton County and the towns of Crown Point, Chesterfield, Ticonderoga, Westport and Willsboro in Essex County. The APA Board will take no action on this matter this month.
At 10:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene to consider approval for a proposal from the Franklin County Office of Emergency Services to replace an existing telecommunications tower which is located on Mt. Pisgah in the Village of Saranac Lake, Essex County. The committee will review a Lyme Adirondack Timberlands forest management project to harvest a 212 acre portion of their 14,379 acre Perkins Clearing Tract. The project site is located in the Town of Lake Pleasant, Hamilton County. The committee will also consider the Heartwood Forestland Fund IV Limited Partnership proposal to harvest 53 acres of their 8,208 acre John Brown Tract. The project site is located in the Town of Lyonsdale, Lewis County.
At 1:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will reconvene to consider a permit amendment for an existing commercial use structure located in the Town of Bolton, Warren County.
At 2:30, the Park Policy and Planning Committee will come to order to review a proposed amendment to the Town of Westport's official Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map. The request involves reclassification of approximately 12.3 acres of Resource Management to Hamlet. The request is contingent upon connecting the area to the existing municipal sewer system.
At 3:30 p.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board comment, public and member comment.
