RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, July 9, 2015. The July meeting is one day only. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.
The Full Agency will come to order at 9:30 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martinos monthly report.
At 10:00 a.m., the State Land Committee will assemble to determine if the proposed Alger Island Campground and Fourth Lake Day Use Area Unit Management Plan and the Community Connector Trail Unit Management Plan (UMP) conform to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan. The Alger Island Campground and Fourth Lake Day Use Area is located on Fourth Lake of the Fulton Chain of Lakes in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County.
The Community Connector Trail UMP details proposed plans for multi-use recreational trails and campsites to be established in order to connect the communities of North Hudson, Newcomb, and Minerva (Essex County) and the support facilities within these communities. This plan will also serve to amend the 2005 Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest UMP, the 1995 Lake Harris Public Campground UMP and the 2000 Camp Santanoni Historic Area UMP.
At 11:30 a.m., the Local Government Services Committee will review and consider approval for a request from the Town of Arietta, Hamilton County to repeal their existing town zoning law and replace with updated local land use laws.
At 1:15 p.m. the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene to determine approvability for a proposal from the Village of Tupper Lake to construct a new 80.5-foot-tall self-supporting lattice tower for emergency communications. The tower would be located immediately behind the Tupper Lake Emergency Services Building which is presently under construction in the Village of Tupper Lake, Franklin County.
At 2:45 p.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board comment, public and member comment.
