JUNE AGENCY BOARD MEETING AGENDA


Ray Brook - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12, 2015. Please use http://www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.

The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

At 9:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene to consider a request for a variance from the 150-foot shoreline setback of a designated recreational river under the Wild, Scenic and Recreational Rivers System Act. The project site is located in the town of Jay, Essex County. The committee will also act on proposed general permits to streamline responses to aquatic and terrestrial invasive plants. The committee meeting will conclude with review of MWF Adirondacks, LLC and the Molpus Woodlands Group, LLCs proposed overstory removal harvest. This forest management project is located in the town of Piercefield, St. Lawrence County.

At 1:00 p.m., the State Land Committee will hear a request for the Agency Chairwoman to authorize an update to the interagency guidelines between the Agency and the Department of Environmental Conservation related to the control of terrestrial and aquatic invasive species on Adirondack Park Forest Preserve lands. The committee will also determine if the Pepperbox and Meacham Lake Unit Management Plans (UMPs) conform to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan. The State Land Committee meeting will close with informational presentations from DEC staff on the proposed Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor UMP amendment and the Essex Chain Lakes Complex UMP. The Essex Chain Lakes Complex includes: the Essex Chain Lakes Primitive Area, the Pine Lake Primitive Area, recently classified portions of the Blue Mountain Wild Forest, and three State Administrative Areas.

At 4:00 p.m., the Administration Committee will come to order for a briefing from staff on the transition from the Agencys Master Action Database (MAD) program and record management system to a new program called the Adirondack Park Agency Transaction Database System.

At 9:00 a.m., on Friday morning June 12, the Economic Affairs Committee will hear a presentation from Ollie Burgess, owner of Specialty Wood Products, Inc. Mr. Burgess will provide an overview of his business which is located in Bloomingdale, NY. Since 1992, Specialty Wood Products has been a major source of building materials for architects, builders, interior designers, manufacturers, and craftspeople.

At 9:45 a.m., the Park Policy and Planning Committee will deliberate the Town of Wilmington's (Essex County) proposed map amendment to the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan map. The town has requested changes to the existing APA land use classifications for private lands.

At 10:45 a.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board comment, public and member comment.
