APA TO HOLD INFORMATIONAL PUBLIC MEETING FOR NYCO MINERALS, INC. MINE PROJECT


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold an informal public meeting to provide information and solicit public comment on NYCO Minerals, Inc.'s. request to amend existing APA permits for their Seventy Road and Oak Hill mining facilities which are located in the Town of Lewis, Essex County. The project does not involve any work related to the Jay Mountain Wilderness Lot 8 Constitutional Amendment.

The public meeting will take place at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Town of Lewis Fire Station located on 18 Firehouse Lane in the Town of Lewis, Essex County.

Starting at 1:00 PM, the public is invited to meet with APA staff and NYCO Minerals, Inc. (NYCO) representatives to discuss the project.

At 1:30 PM, NYCO representatives will provide an overview of the proposed mining activities including expansion of excavation limits, change to hours of operation, modifications to truck traffic and impacts to natural resources.

Following the presentation the public will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed project. All verbal comments will be recorded and included in the project record.

The public is also encouraged to submit written comments to the Adirondack Park Agency for consideration during project review.
