JUNE AGENCY BOARD MEETING AGENDA


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at its Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday June 12 and Friday, June 13, 2014. Please use www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.

The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00 AM for Executive Director Martinos monthly report.

At 9:30 AM, the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene to determine approvability for a variance to construct a structure within the shoreline setback area to stabilize a highly eroded section of the Boquet River. The proposed site is located in the Town of Willsboro, Essex County.

The committee will also consider a new 80 foot tall telecommunications tower proposed in the Town of Putnam, Washington County and a new 55 foot tall telecommunications tower proposed in the Town of North Hudson, Essex County.

At 1:00 PM, the Park Ecology Committee will hear a presentation on boat inspection and decontamination procedures which were researched as part of an Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Strategy in the Adirondack Region.

At 1:45 PM, the State Land Committee will come to order to determine Unit Management Plan (UMP) conformance for the Jay Mountain UMP Amendment, the Bog River Complex UMP Amendment and the Cranberry Lake Wild Forest UMP Amendment. The committee will hear an informational presentation from the Department of Environmental Conservation on the Essex Chain Lakes Management Complex Unit Management Plan and the Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest UMP Amendment. No action will be taken on Vanderwhacker Mountain or the Essex Chain Lakes Management Complex Plan at the June meeting.

On Friday, June 13 at 9:00 AM, the Economic Affairs Committee will hear a presentation from Jeff Erenstone of Mountain Orthotic and Prosthetic Services. Mr. Erenstone will provide an overview of his business and its commitment to serving the Park's athletes and veterans.

At 9:45 AM, the State Land Committee will receive a briefing on the Travel Corridor Management Process and Scenic Vista Management.

At 10:30 AM, the Legal Affairs Committee, will hear an overview on proposed revisions to Park Agency State Environmental Quality Review and Freedom of Information Law regulations.

At 11:15 AM, the Full Agency will convene for committee reports, Local Government Review Board comment, public and member comment.
