RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at its Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Please use www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.
The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00AM for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.
At 9:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for a proposed new commercial use. The proposed project involves construction and operation of a campground with 44 campsites for tenting and RV/travel trailers. The campground would operate seasonally from May 15 to October 15. The project site is a 52.28 acre parcel of land located on Lake Ozonia Road in the Town of Hopkinton, St. Lawrence County, in an area classified Resource Management on the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map.
At 11:00, the Economic Affairs Committee will convene for a presentation from Colleen Lemza on the Essex Pallet & Pellet Company. Ms. Lemza will discuss this innovative business which is located in the Keeseville Industrial Park in Keeseville, Essex County. In addition to building custom pallets and boxes, the company manufactures wood pellets for heating and artisanal grilling.
At 1:00, the Park Policy and Planning Committee will be briefed by James McKenna and William Farber on the recommendations of the Adirondack Partnership Recreational Work Group.
At 2:00, the State Land Committee will convene to determine Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan compliance for an amendment to the Whiteface Mountain Unit Management Plan. The amendment involves the redevelopment of the existing Ski Patrol building and the installation of antenna systems for the Essex County public safety radio communication system.
The committee meeting will conclude with an informational presentation from DEC staff member Carol Fraser and APA state land staff on accessibility standards and DEC programs to address access for people with disabilities.
At 3:45, the Legal Affairs Committee will come to order and consider authorizing Agency staff to file a notice of proposed rulemaking for the State Administrative Procedures Act consensus rule which would update citations, make technical corrections to, clarify, and repeal obsolete language in the Agencys existing rules set forth in 9 NYCRR, Subtitle Q.
At 4:00, the Full Agency will assemble to take action as necessary.
The meeting will conclude with committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
