ADIRONDACK PARK AGENCY MARCH 2013 MEETING AGENDA


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at its Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15, 2013. This month's meeting will be webcast live. Please use www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.

The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00AM for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

At 9:30, Agency staff will provide a presentation to the Enforcement and Park Ecology Committee regarding APA jurisdiction and review of forestry activities inside the Adirondack Park.

At 10:45, Professor René H. Germain, Ph.D., SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will brief the Park Policy and Planning Committee on sustained yield management and forest certification on forest industry lands in the Adirondack Park.

At 1:00, the Park Policy Committee will reconvene for an overview by Department of Environmental Conservation State Forester, Robert Davies, on the state of the forest.

At 2:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will assembly to determine approvability for a proposal to apply Renovate to 15± acre portion of Loon Lake for control of Eurasian watermilfoil. The project site is located in the Town of Chester, Warren County.

The committee will also consider a proposal to construct a boardwalk nature trail on the property of The Arts Guild of Old Forge. The project involves wetlands. The Arts Guilds project site is a 7± acre parcel of land located on New York State Route 28 in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County.

At 4:00, the Economic Affairs Committee will hear an informational presentation from Sarah Reed of the Wildlife Conservation Societys North America Program. Ms. Reed will compare land use and home sales in conservation and conventional development projects.

On Friday Morning March 15 at 10:00, the Full Agency will convene for a Community Spotlight presentation. Town of Day Supervisor, Mary Ann Johnson, will detail community assets and identify challenges facing this Saratoga County town.

At 11:00, the State Land Committee will be briefed by APA Planning staff on the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan's classification criteria.

At 11:45, the Full Agency will assemble to take action as necessary.

The meeting will conclude with committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
