ADIRONDACK PARK AGENCY JANUARY 2013 MEETING AGENDA


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at its Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, January 10, 2013. This months meeting is Thursday only and will be webcast live. Please use www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents List to watch the meeting.

The Full Agency will come to order at 1:00PM for Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report.

The Regulatory Programs Committee will convene at 1:30 to act on a general permit which authorizes management of aquatic invasive species using benthic barriers and hand-harvesting techniques.

The Committee will also be briefed on a previously approved telecommunications tower project in the Town of Clifton (St. Lawrence County) for which a permit was issued in June 2012. Staff will report on the status of the new 100-foot-tall tower, the top 35 feet of which is concealed as a simulated pine tree. This tower provides cellular service in St. Lawrence County and is used by the St. Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services for communication purposes.

At 2:45, the State Land Committee will come together to determine State Land Master Plan compliance for the Taylor Pond Management Complex Unit Management Plan.

At 3:30, the Park Ecology Committee will hear a presentation from Brendon Quirion, the Terrestrial Project Coordinator for the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program. Mr. Quirion will report on terrestrial invasive species management efforts conducted in 2012.

At 4:15, the Full Agency will assemble to take action as necessary.

The meeting will conclude with committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
