The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at its Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 9:00AM. The meeting is one day only and will be webcast live. Please use the following link: www.apa.ny.gov and click Webcasting from the Contents list.
The Full Agency will convene at 9:00AM followed by Executive Director Terry Martino's monthly report. This month the Executive Director will present the Board with a resolution in recognition of Earth Day.
At 9:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approving a variance request and two permit applications.
The variance request is for the construction of a single family house within the 75-foot shoreline setback requirement from the mean high water mark on Silver Lake. The project site is located in the Town of Black Brook, Clinton County.
The Committee will review a proposal from Independent Towers to construct a new 100-foot tall telecommunication tower, concealed as a simulated pine tree, in the Town of Clifton, St. Lawrence County. A second renewal for a permit issued for an after-the- fact two lot subdivision including the construction of a single family dwelling will be considered. The project site is located within the designated river area of the East Branch of the Ausable River in the Town of Jay, Essex County.
At 11:30, the Local Government Services Committee will convene for a program report including a summary presentation on the successful 2012 Local Government Day held in March.
At 1:00, the State Land Committee will receive a status update from NYS Department of Environmental Conservation staff on Unit Management Plan implementation. Following this presentation, APA Deputy Director for Planning James Connolly will provide the committee with an informational overview on the history of the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan in relationship to the Federal Wilderness Act.
At 1:45, the Park Policy and Planning Committee will be briefed by Agency staff on improvements to the Agencys GIS Look-Up system and how this system provides invaluable access to Agency data critical to the decision making process.
At 2:30, Adirondack Lakes Survey Corporation (ALSC) Research Manager Karen Roy will lead an overview to the Park Ecology Committee. Ms. Roy will present a brief history of ALSC as well as highlight water body chemistry and fisheries resurveys. She will also detail current program data available on the internet.
A tour of the ALSC laboratory will be offered for the Board at the conclusion of the Agency meeting. The tour is open to the public and will leave from the Agency building following the conclusion of the meeting. At 4:00, the Full Agency will assemble to take action as necessary.

The May Agency is scheduled for May 17-18, 2012 at Agency headquarters in Ray Brook.
