ADIRONDACK PARK AGENCY SEPTEMBER 2011 MEETING AGENDA


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at APA Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The Full Agency will convene on Thursday morning at 9:00 for Executive Director Terry Martino's report where she will update the Board on monthly accomplishments.

At 9:30, Deputy Director for Regulatory Programs Richard Weber will brief the Regulatory Programs Committee on the Agency's response to Tropical Storm Irene. The committee will then consider a variance request to replace an existing cesspool with an enhanced wastewater treatment system consisting of a larger leaching area, as necessary to comply with current New York State Department of Health and Agency requirements. The project site is located in the Town of Webb, Hamilton County.

The committee meeting will conclude with a status report on the Town of North Elba's shared-use recreational path project, APA permit 2007-148R.

At 11:00, the Economic Affairs Committee will assemble for a presentation from Garry Douglas, Co-Chair, North Country Regional Economic Development Council, and William Farber, Council Member and Chair of the Council's Adirondack Park Work Group on the ongoing efforts of the North Country Regional Economic Development Council.

At 1:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will re-convene for a briefing on highway utility projects along routes 56 and 149. The committee will also discuss utility line policy issues.

At 1:45, the Local Government Services Committee will hear a staff presentation on Adirondack towns with local shoreline protections that exceed APA statute requirements.

At 2:15, the Legal Affairs Committee will be updated on ongoing staff efforts to implement the recently passed Community Housing Bill.

At 2:45, the State Land Committee will hear a report from NYS DEC staff regarding backcountry storm damage and DEC's ongoing efforts to recovery from Tropical Storm Irene. At 3:30, the Park Planning and Policy Committee will receive a presentation on the 2010 census analysis for the Adirondack Park population.

At 4:15, the Full Agency will assemble to take action as necessary.

The October Agency is scheduled for October 13-14, 2011 at Agency headquarters in Ray Brook.
