APA ANNOUNCES INFORMATION PUBLIC MEETING For VERIZON WIRELESS PROJECT


RAY BROOK, NY  The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold a legislative (informational) public meeting to solicit public comment on Verizon Wirelesss APA application 2010-154 for a telecommunication project in the Village of Lake Placid, Town of North Elba, Essex County.

Verizon Wireless proposes to remove two existing omni-directional antennas (whip antennas) currently mounted on the roof of the Lake Placid Crowne Plaza Resort & Golf Club and replace them with a twelve-panel antenna array housed inside a cupola structure constructed on the roof of the resort. The Lake Placid Crowne Plaza is located on Olympic Drive.

The proposed panel antennas will reach a height of 52 feet above ground. The cupola will be approximately 196 square feet in size (14ft by 14ft), 56 feet tall and built of radio-frequency transparent materials.

The public hearing will commence on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 immediately following the 7:00 pm meeting of the Joint Review Board in the 3rd-floor meeting room of the Town of North Elba Town Hall, 2693 Main Street, Village of Lake Placid, Essex County. The application, including the plans and other supporting materials, will be available for public inspection during the public information meeting. Agency staff will be present to provide a brief summary of the proposed project, answer questions, and receive comments.
