APA TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING FOR NORTH COUNTRY PARTNERS PROPOSED MAP AMENDMENT


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, August 25 at 7:00 PM to discuss a proposed amendment to the Official Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map requested by North Country Partners, LP. The public hearing will take place in the Harrietstown Town Hall, located at 39 Main Street, Saranac Lake, NY.

The requested action involves reclassifying private land from Resource Management to Moderate Intensity Use. The property is located in the Town of Harrietstowns, Franklin County along NYS Route 30 with shoreline on Lake Clear. APA staff will provide an informational presentation to describe the proposed action and alternatives. Following the presentation, the general public is invited to comment about the reclassification proposal. Written comments will also be accepted until Monday, September 13, 2010.

APA staff will incorporate all comments into a Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FSEIS). The FSEIS will include the hearing summary, public comments, and the written analysis of APA staff, as finalized after the public hearing. The Agency Board will deliberate at a future Agency meeting whether to accept the FSEIS and whether to approve the map amendment request, deny the request or approve an alternative.
