APA Extends Public Comment Period on General Permits 2010G-1 and 2010G-3

RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) has extended the public comment period to August 28, 2010 for General Permit 2010G-1 "Installation of New or Replacement Telecommunications Towers at Existing Agency Approved Sites" and General Permit 2010G-3; entitled "Change in Use of an Existing Commercial, Public/Semi-Public, or Industrial Building."

General Permit 2010G-1 would expedite review of certain types of telecommunications projects at sites where the APA has previously issued telecommunications permits and where it has reviewed visual analyses prepared for the approved projects.

General Permit 2010G-3 would expedite the APA review process for a project to change from a lawful use in an existing commercial, public/semi public, or industrial use building to a different use. It would apply when an existing building is proposed to be reused for a different use and the impact of the proposed change is minimal.

This is a SEQRA, Type 1 action. A negative declaration and Full Environmental Assessment Form has been prepared by the APA and is on file at its offices in Ray Brook, New York. The proposed General Permits, applications and certificate forms are available for review on the Agency's website at:

http://www.apa.state.ny.us/Forms/Alphabetical_Forms.html

All persons and agencies are invited to comment on the proposed general permit in writing or by phone no later than August 28, 2010.
