Newcomb, NY - On Saturday, February 13, the Visitor Interpretive Center at Newcomb invites you to join VIC staff and educators from The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) for a festive day of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on our beautiful trails from 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. The festival includes snowshoe use and access to the trails, hot beverages, and Family and Kids! Activities: making balsam sachets, snow goggles, snowman pins, winter art and more. Fun family activities on snowshoes include the popular "Search for the Gold Medallion" and scavenger hunts on each of the trails. ADK educators will offer instructions on snowshoeing and winter preparedness. While visitors should bring their own ski equipment, snowshoes can be borrowed, on-site, from the VIC or ADK. The Festival is being sponsored by the Adirondack Park Agency, The Adirondack Park Institute (API), and the Adirondack Mountain Club. The program is free.
