Newcomb, NY - On Saturday, January 16, beginning at 1:00 p.m., the Visitor Interpretive Center at Newcomb will have an Out and About guided snowshoe walk led by Guest Naturalist Peter O'Shea. Entitled "Tracks Do Tell Tales," Mr. O'Shea will share information about the world of animal tracks and the Adirondack winter landscape. Snowshoes will be available to borrow for the walk if visitors don't have their own. The program is free, however pre-registration is required. At 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, visitors to the VIC can join Adirondack Park Institute (API) Director, Martha Van der Voort for a snowshoe walk along one of the VIC trails. Winter is a great time to explore the wonders of the season. The Adirondack Park Institute (API) is the friends group of the VICs. Remember, "Friends don't let Friends stay inside." Snowshoes will be available to borrow for the walk if visitors don't have their own. This program is free and registration is not required. For more information call the VIC at 518-582-2000.
